Lakefront Brewery launches 'Save a Weiss' beer for Suicide Prevention Week

Lakefront Brewery

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Lakefront Brewery has reintroduced its "Save a Weiss" beer to support National Suicide Prevention Week, which begins Sunday, Sept. 8.

The initiative is part of a broader effort led by a coalition of brewers nationwide, inspired by O.H.S.O Brewing in Phoenix, Ariz.

Lakefront Brewery President Russ Klisch discussed the importance of the campaign in a Thursday, Sept. 5 press release.

"Our efforts last year meant so much to us, we wanted to repeat helping this very important cause," Klisch said.

Lakefront will donate $1 from every pint of "Save a Weiss" sold to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Wisconsin chapter starting Thursday. The beer will be available through Sunday, Sept. 14, with funds going toward suicide prevention and awareness programs across the state.
