Local students set up coffee shop, donate money to cancer organization

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) – Local elementary school students are learning how to run their own business.

Fourth graders from Summit View Elementary School in Waukesha set up their own coffee shop called, “Coffee King”.

Students created everything including the name, marketing materials and products.

Proceeds from the coffee shop will benefit Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, in honor of a teacher’s son who has leukemia.

“It not only helps my son, but other kids in our local community,” Elisabeth Thielitz said. “We have other students that have cancer go through our building here and this can show all kids how much we love them and that kids can support other kids.”

The coffee shop raised $700 on Thursday. Teachers hope to raise the same amount on Friday.
