Man charged in 2024 crash that killed Oak Creek mother, warrant issued for his arrest

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An arrest warrant has been issued to find a man accused in a fatal crash back in August of last year.
Xavier Perez, 20, has been charged with second degree reckless homicide, and hit-and-run resulting in death.
The crash happened near Muskego and Rogers on Aug. 26, 2024. Officials say 38-year-old Tai Rosa Perez was driving northbound on South Muskego Avenue near Rogers when a stolen Cadillac SUV driving at a fast speed hit her car. The two people in the SUV got out of the car and ran from the scene.
According to a criminal complaint filed on June 9 of 2025, a cellphone was recovered from the stolen Cadillac and investigators found an Uber profile on it with the name "Xavier Perez."
Investigators collected blood found on deployed airbags in the Cadillac and sent it to the Wisconsin State Crime Lab for testing.
The complaint says the crime lab determined DNA found on the airbags matched Perez.
An arrest warrant has now been issued for Perez.
