MILWAUKEE, Wis (CBS 58) -- A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning on Milwaukee's south side. As family members close to the victim react to her death, they say the people who left the scene of the crime had little regard for their loved one.

According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's report of the incident, 38-year-old Tai Rosa Perez was driving northbound on South Muskego Avenue near Rogers when a stolen Cadillac SUV driving at a fast speed hit her car. The two people in the SUV got out of the car and ran from the scene.

"I feel very bad, very sad that a healthy person has fallen in this accident by two people who have no conscience," said Adaiz Gonzalez, Perez's aunt.

On Wednesday, Adaiz Gonzalez and her husband, Sal Gonzalez, visited the scene of the crash, where a memorial was placed for their niece.

“She’s a beautiful young lady," Sal Gonzalez said. “It wasn’t her fault; it was the other people who left running.”

She was very special to us. Since I lost a daughter too, I feel the same way. She lost her dad the same way. This makes me feel very sad," Adaiz Gonzalez said.

Surveillance video from a barbershop down the street from the location of the crash recorded the event on video. Sarife Jurarez, who lives across the street from the scene of the crash, recorded some of the aftermath on her phone.

"I thought it was going to go inside the house," Jurarez said. "It was bad."

Jurarez said she's familiar with reckless driving in her neighborhood.

“It’s really dangerous to cross the street or whatever. They just go really fast," Jurarez said. “I hope they find them. I feel so sorry for the loss.”

Perez husband, Alex Crespo, said his wife lived with him in Oak Creek. The couple are parents to a son and are helping raise their niece.

Crespo said Perez was on her way to the gym, which was an activity she did near the neighborhood they used to live up until the day she died.

Police have not made any arrests as of Wednesday.
