MCTS driver credited with helping a woman and child escape domestic violence situation

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee Public Transit System (MCTS) bus operator is being commended for going above and beyond his duties one night. 

MCTS says Dartanian Lewis noticed a young woman and child involved in a domestic dispute while working one evening.

He had them board the bus to keep them away from harm, and made a special trip off his route to take them to a nearby friend's home.

In a social media post Wednesday, MCTS wrote in part, "Your dedication to safety and the Milwaukee community did not go unnoticed. Thank you for your #MCTSExcellence!"
