Officials: Pedestrian dead after being struck by train in Oak Creek

OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Oak Creek Police Dept. has confirmed that a pedestrian was struck by a train on Wednesday, May 8 at around 8:06 p.m. on tracks on W. Puetz Road, near Riverwood Dr.

Officials say that once officers arrived, they saw the pedestrian had been struck by the train and was pronounced dead at the scene. As of late Wednesday, OCPD was still working to identify the victim.

The train was also confirmed to be an Amtrak passenger train, with officials noting that Amtrak personnel are cooperating with the investigation, and that no injuries were reported on the train.

OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner confirms one person is dead near Puetz Road in Oak Creek on Wednesday, May 8. 

Police are on scene of the railroad tracks, just north of Highway 100. 

The medical examiner responded this evening. They are working to identify the victim.
