MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police say a woman was shot and killed near 30th and Vine just before 5:30 Monday morning.
Police say the woman died of her injuries on scene. The body of the victim was found on the ground next to a vehicle and at least six shell casings were found nearby.
It's the 16th deadly shooting in August and people who live and work nearby say they don't understand why there's been such a rise in violence in the city.
"It's sad, you know, Milwaukee was way better than this. We was way better than this and we as a people need to come together and stop all this. Honestly, this is ridiculous," said Latoya Cruse who lives nearby.
"This is not Chicago or California. This is the city of Milwaukee and people here used to be decent to each other and now there's too many guns. You have to get rid of the guns," said Ronnie Ringold who works near the scene of Monday's shooting.
Police are still looking for suspects and the shooting is still under investigation.
