THIENSVILLE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Thiensville Police Dept. has identified the man who drowned in the Milwaukee River as 52-year-old Aleksandr "Alex" Melnikov of Mequon.

Officials also confirmed that the Chocolate Labrador, Kobe, that Alex was attempting to retrieve after the dog was swept downstream and over the Village Park dam, has not been found.

THIENSVILLE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities say on Friday, June 7, teams continued to search the area for a missing adult male in the Milwaukee River. During the search, a body of an adult male was recovered. 

The body has not been identified at this time. 


THIENSVILLE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A captain with the Southern Ozaukee County Fire Department says the search for a man who was seen in the water near the Thiensville dam in the Milwaukee River has turned into a recovery effort.

Several area agencies have been assisting in the search since Wednesday evening. 

Officials say witnesses reported a middle-aged man entered the water after his dog went in. 



THIENSVILLE Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Fire Department says they are assisting a search in Thiensville along the Milwaukee River for reports of one person in the water on Wednesday, June 5. 

MFD sent their dive team and boat team to assist the search.
