Milwaukee Panthers men's basketball program hosting 'Kids Camp' for young players

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Local kid athletes will have a chance to have fun while learning from Milwaukee Panther basketball coaches and players over the summer.

Head coach Bart Lundy and the Milwaukee Panthers men's basketball program are inviting young players from kindergarten through eighth grade to join them this summer for "Kids Camp," a day camp designed for honing basketball skills while having fun.

The camp's three week-long options are June 19 - 23, June 26 - 30 and July 17 - 21. Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, with doors opening at 8 a.m. each day for registration.

All activities will be held at the Klotsche Center on the UWM campus.

All campers will be required to turn in a medical insurance form before participating in the camp. Refunds are only available prior to the start of the camp for a $50 fee, and refunds are not available once a camper's session begins.

In a letter to the potential parents of campers, head coach Bart Lundy said, "As a boy growing up, my favorite time of the year was summer basketball camp. It is where some of my favorite childhood memories were made. When done correctly, basketball camp can bring a love of the sport to a child and fill their summer with a positive experience."

He added, "This is the environment and experience we intend to create here at the Milwaukee Panther Basketball Camps."

The cost for the week-long event is $325 per camper. More information, including a link to the registration process can be found by clicking here.
