Milwaukee Police Investigate Two Separate Overnight Shootings
The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a double shooting that resulted in one fatality and one non-fatal injury. The shooting occurred on Saturday, 07-09-16 at about 10:55PM in the area of 2700 N. 7th Street. The initial investigation reveals that families from two separate houses became involved in a family dispute. The dispute quickly escalated into a physical fight. During the fight a suspect pulled a gun and fired several gunshots. A 46-year-old male was struck by the gunfire and died from his injuries. A 13-year-old female was also struck by gunfire. She was conveyed to a local hospital where she was treated for a non-life threatening injury.
Another shooting occurred in the 4700 block of N. Hopkins Street on Sunday 07/010/16 at about 2:00 A.M. Circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear, but evidence suggests that a 36-year-old victim was shot at least once. Milwaukee Fire Department attempted life saving measures, but were unable to revive the victim, he died on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
