Milwaukee seeks public input for 'Growing MKE' project
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Department of City Development is leading an initiative focused on expanding housing options and choices for Milwaukee residents.
Known as "Growing MKE," the project is currently in its first phase and is open for public input until early fall. Initial recommendations from the public have included the increase of housing supply in urban areas, the development of walkable neighborhoods and the expansion of transit options.
Opportunities for community involvement are ongoing, with the department hosting a senior-focused pop-up from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at the Washington Park Senior Center, and another event from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 at the Jackson Park Farmers Market.
Public feedback collected during this first phase will be released later in the fall.
