Milwaukee VA lowers vaccine eligibility to enrolled veterans 55 and older

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee VA Medical Center has again lowered the age threshold for enrolled veterans to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, to age 55 and older.

Earlier this week, the medical center announced the age had been lowered from 65-60.

The new age threshold is effective immediately, and includes the walk-in clinic scheduled from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 6 at the VA Medical Center.

Veterans in the new age group are being contacted to set up appointments.

Any veterans who attend the walk-in clinic Saturday and are unable to receive the vaccine due to capacity will receive an appointment to get the shot at a later date.
