Milwaukee's version of "Cash Cab" coming to town to celebrate travel and tourism week
This week is National Travel & Tourism Week all across the country. Tourism is the second-largest economic driver in Wisconsin, and Milwaukee is the largest tourism economy in the state.
Visit Milwaukee has a fun promotion going for the weekend where you could win special prizes just for knowing your Brew City trivia.
“Tour Your Town” will run on Uber rides will run May 8-10, 2015. For those who don't want to use Uber, you can take part on Facebook on May 2.
All over town! Randomly selected Uber riders around Milwaukee will be given National Travel & Tourism Week quizzes. The more you ride, the more chances you have to enter for a grand prize that includes a two-night Stay at the Milwaukee Marriott Downtown, a $50 gift certificate to Millioke, and a $200 gift certificate to Evolution Gastropong Milwaukee's VIP Lounge.
Kristin Settle of Visit Milwaukee was the special live in studio guest on the CBS 58 News at 4 p.m.
She reminded viewers that tourism has become a critical employment and revenue generating stream for the state, especially Milwaukee County.
For 2014 Milwaukee County was the largest tourism economy in the state, generating $3.2 billion and 30,900 full time jobs.
