MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A summer initiative is underway to create more green space in Milwaukee.
MKE Plays was created by Alderman Michael Murphy in 2015. It gives groups the resources to create parks that reflect the needs and interests of Milwaukee neighborhoods.
By the end of 2018, MKE Plays will have fixed up 13 parks in three years.
Since 2015, MKE Plays has raised nearly $1.7 million to rebuild playgrounds across the city. The city has also donated $1.5 million to the program.
