MPD Chief Morales to community: 'You play the largest role to overcome the pandemic'

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police Alfonso Morales is wanting to take the stay at home order seriously. He says police officers will still be patrolling to make sure people are following the rules.

"Make no mistake, violators of the stay at home order put first responders and the community at risk of spreading COVID-19... repeat offenders could face arrest and possible criminal penalties," Chief Morales said.

Morales made the comments on the department's YouTube page.

Gov. Tony Evers' "Safer at Home" order is in effect until at least April 24.
