MPD: Two men shot during argument near Water and Clybourn
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a double shooting that happened near Water and Clybourn on Sunday, June 13.
Police say a 27-year-old Racine man and 21-year-old Racine man were shot shortly after 2 a.m. The two victims were transported to a local hospital for non-fatal gunshot injuries.
Many say there were several fist fights. Bar owners and employees say the hot weather and the end of the mask mandate has been attracting crowds. They say police do patrol the area, but things still get out of hand.
People who were in the area Saturday night say they left early because of the busy scene. Others say they don't bother to come downtown at night and only during the day.
"It was pretty chaotic last night, we went around midnight, everybody was on top of each other getting crazy, fights in the street, cars passing each other almost getting into car crashes," Kassandra Wiltshire, a witness, told CBS 58.
Police believe the shooting is the result of an argument. Police are seeking an unknown suspect.
