New Berlin's Costume Express offering easy Halloween costume safety tips

Halloween falls on this Saturday and that means an especially busy time for those who specialize in costumes.

Costume Express, an online retailer in New Berlin says this has been one of the busiest years for them.

Holly Botsford was a special live guest on the CBS 58 News at 4 p.m. Monday to go over some basic safety tips.

Among the advice: 

Dress for the weather. 
Check for tripping hazards. 
Make sure your child can see. 
Make sure your child is not allergic to their Halloween makeup OR CANDY
While You're Trick or Treating
Stay visible.

Bostford says unitards, a heat to toe covering in a solid color can offer great coverage for cooler weather. But it's light enough that it can be used to layer underneath a costume without getting you overheated.
