RACINE Wis. (CBS 58) -- A new era in city leadership has begun in Racine.
Cory Mason was sworn in as mayor during the Common Council meeting.
His inaugural speech focused on building up the city's middle class.
Mason also focused on other issues that he says are priority number one.
"No doubt there is much to do to make sure that our water is protected and that the promises made for jobs are fulfilled," said Mayor Cory Mason.
Mason won a special election last month. It was held after Former Mayor John Dickert left to take a job in the private sector.
