Ordinance would require cell phones for Milwaukee employees on job sites

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Milwaukee Common Council Committee passes a new policy for worker safety.

It requires city employees to carry city-issued cell phones while working at sites other than municipal buildings.

Alderman Tony Zielinski sponsored the proposal after last year’s murder of City Inspector “Ziggy” Zyszkiewicz during an attempted carjacking.

The measure now goes to the full Common Council for approval.
