A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Work and life regularly and routinely collide for many trades, especially work in construction.
That is why this month, the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is celebrating "Prevent Falls in Construction Week".
OSHA is promoting awareness and training to address one of the industry's most serious hazards.
“Falls are preventable and yet falls remain the leading cause of fatal injuries," Andres Saldana, OSHA Regional Safety Health Manager, said. "Just lastly in 2019 this accounted for a 25% increase in fatalities than in 2018. Each of us , we have to do a better job of protecting our workers and osha’s goal is to have zero fatalities.”
OSHA says the campaign has helped train nearly 10 million workers in fall prevention.
