PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- According to authorities, on Friday, Jan. 5, around 6:55 p.m., Caledonia police got a call about a stolen car taken by force from the Mobil station at 13600 Seven Mile Rd. The car was identified as a gray 2011 Hyundai Sonata with Wisconsin plates.
A Racine County Sheriff's deputy was patrolling the I-94 area when he saw the car going southbound near HWY 20. The deputy continued to watch the car until more deputies were able to catch up to provide back up. More information said the suspect was a man and possibly had a gun.
Once the deputies tried to pull the car over near Hwy KR, it slowed down and seemed to be complying. The car then sped off at a high rate of speed and a pursuit followed. At the time, only one man was found to be in the car, as the driver, as it was speeding at over 110 MPH.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office was asked for help in trying to deploy tire puncturing devices as speeds neared 120 MPH.
When the driver of the car saw a Kenosha sheriff's car, it suddenly got off at Hwy C. The car stayed going eastbound on HWY C and then ducked into a neighborhood off Hwy C and Bain Station. The car then drove into a yard near 94th and Ashbury. The male black driver wearing all dark clothing got out and fled on foot.
As deputies got out to chase him, a 22-year-old woman got out of the front passenger seat with a 1-year-old girl. They were later found to be the driver's girlfriend and daughter. At the time of chase, deputies did not know there was a child in the car. The 22-year-old woman said she was pleading for the man to stop.
A perimeter was set up with help from Kenosha sheriff, Pleasant Prairie police, Kenosha police, and Wisconsin State Patrol. Several K9 units as well as drones were used to try to find the man. After an hour, he was not found.
The driver of the car was identified as 23-year-old Million D. Harper from Milwaukee. It was discovered that car was stolen from a family member in the City of Milwaukee. That family member was able to track the car and alert authorities to the gas station in Caledonia.
Anyone with information as to Harper's whereabouts can call the Racine County Communications Center at (262) 886-2300 or their local law enforcement agency.
Several felony charges will be given to the Racine County District Attorney's Office.
