PLYMOUTH, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It's a very Wisconsin way to celebrate the New Year.
The 'Big Satori Cheese Drop' took place in Plymouth on Monday.
It's a tradition in the Sheboygan County community. It starts with music and a family celebration before the cheese drop.
This was the 12th year for the event.
"Very Plymouth symbolic. Symbolizes what we're about, y'know with all the cheese factories in the area. I like it, it's good heritage for the community," said Dan Weber.
The cheese drop now happens at 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve to make it more family-friendly.
Plymouth calls itself the "Cheese Capitol of the World" and their cheese drop has received coverage in recent years.
