Police: Woman was huffing before causing multi-vehicle crash in West Bend
WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 47-year-old woman accused of "huffing" was arrested after authorities say she caused a multi-vehicle crash in West Bend on Friday, Jan. 17.
It happened at the intersection of Paradise and Silverbrook Drives around 1:39 p.m.
According to West Bend police, the 47-year-old driver struck another eastbound vehicle stopped at the red light. That vehicle struck a third vehicle also stopped at the red light.
Police say one of the drivers of the stopped vehicles, a 24-year-old female, sustained injuries to her back, neck, and chest. The driver of the third vehicle was not injured.
Officials determined the 47-year-old driver of the striking vehicle had been ‘huffing’ prior to the crash and huffing items were found in the vehicle. She was on probation for OWI-6th Offense and had a revoked driver’s license.
The 47-year-old woman was arrested for OWI-7th Offense-Causing Injury, Abuse of Hazardous Materials, Violation of Probation, and Operating after Revocation.
