MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- People gathered outside the federal courthouse in Milwaukee Wednesday, July 1, to protest an appeals court ruling in favor of certain voting restrictions.
"We might not even be able to come out the house in November, we have to certainly get our votes in and this is a travesty. It's almost -- it's criminal that people are trying to make sure that our community certainly doesn't have a voice."
The outrage follows the 7th circuit's decision to uphold the reduction of the early voting window from five weeks to two.
The panel also said emailing and faxing absentee ballots is unconstitutional.
But critics say these laws disproportionately impact Black voters, especially during a pandemic.
