Racine Unified School District reinstitutes indoor face mask policy

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine Unified School District (RUSD) is reinstituting an indoor face mask requirement for all students, staff and visitors.

RUSD says the decision, made Monday night, is based on the latest data and guidance from the CDC and local health departments.

Students and staff will be able to take masks off while outdoors.

If students are properly wearing masks and following mitigation strategies, they will not be required to quarantine if there is a positive case in the classroom.

Students and staff who are vaccinated will also not be required to quarantine.

RUSD's Smart Start 2021 plan can be found here: https://rusd.org/about/back-school.
