Robotic Insects 200 Times Their Actual Size are On Display at Milwaukee County Zoo

It sounds a little like some creature feature from Hollywood, but giant bugs have invaded the Milwaukee County Zoo.

These are robotic insects, more than 200 times their actual size so you can get a better look at them.  The exhibit called "Big Beneficial Bug" opens this Saturday and as the name implies, it's an appreciation of the creeping, crawling, flying things all around us.

"The honeybees alone actually add 20 billion dollars into the economy on an annual basis, so when you think about that, bugs are beneficial, bugs can be good. And again, we just want visitors to come back with an appreciation."

Without insects like these doing the things they do, experts tell us our ecosystem would collapse.

Big Beneficial Bugs runs through September 5.
