MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Friday Dec 23, the cold weather had a lot of people looking for ways to warm up. One way was to gather around the fireplace at Camp Bar in Milwaukee's Third Ward.
The drinks flowed and the lights shined from wall to wall as families gathered in the iconic Milwaukee Camp Bar to revel in some holiday cheer.
"It's nice to be back in this half of the world. Japan was great, but it's nice to be a little bit closer and not across an entire ocean," said Jake Fernandes, a Milwaukee native currently serving in the Marines.
And while the Third Ward is far from Santa's layer, it has the next best thing, Santa Camp, and family.
"The holiday is family, and it's simple, and I like keeping it simple," said Susan Fernandes a patron of Camp Bar.
The spirit of the festive season not lost on some, knowing in a world which can sometimes seem a little dark and cold, there is always room to spread a little love
"My message to the world is just to be kind to one another," said Karen Hauser, a patron of Camp Bar.
