WAUWATOSA (CBS 58) -- A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was sentenced to 450 months behind bars after an officer-involved shooting back on January 9th.
On January 9th, a Wauwatosa Police officer recognized a stolen Subaru that tried to conduct a traffic stop on N. 92nd Street.
But Ball took off at speeds more than 70 miles an hour. Another officer used a tire deflation device called a stop stick at N. 92nd and W. Hope Avenue.
“Confirmed hit, we got a confirmed hit," said the officer.
The car slowed down but Ball kept going. The chase came to a stop near N. 85th and Concordia in Milwaukee.
Dash cam video shows Ball getting out of the car with a gun in his hand. Police say the suspect started shooting.
"Shots fired, shots fired! Take cover," yelled the officer.
Officers shot back hitting Ball at least twice in the legs. A passenger in the suspect's car was also hit but was okay.
Ball was arrested and last month, Shavell Ball plead guilty to Attempt First Degree Intentional Homicide and First Degree Endangering Safety.
No officers were injured. The Milwaukee County District Attorney says the officers' use of force was justified.
