Slenderman stabbing: Morgan Geyser seeks release again

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Morgan Geyser is once again trying to win her release from a state mental health facility. 

Both she and Anissa Weier were sent there for the 2014 stabbing attack against a classmate in Waukesha. 

The two 12-year-olds claimed they did it to please a fictional character called, "Slenderman." 

Weier was released in 2021. 

Geyser asked for her release last year, only to drop that petition without explanation two months later. 

Now, her attorneys have filed another petition for a "conditional release." The court has agreed to have Geyser examined again. 

A review hearing is set for Aug. 28.
