MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Slice of Ice Rink at Red Arrow Park opened for the season on Friday, Dec. 13.
Due to the chilly weather, the rink opened before Christmas. Last year, the rink did not open until January.
The downtown rink is free to get into if you have your own skates.
"I’m reminded about how special this rink is to our entire community. It’s free, it’s a public skating venue, and really Slice of Ice reflects Milwaukee County’s commitment in ensuring recreation continues to be accessible to everyone," said Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley at the opening.
Slice of Ice is open until 11 tonight. On Monday through Thursday, it closes at 9 p.m.
All hours are weather permitting.
