South 35th Street Bridge over KK River set to close short-term Monday morning

Starting Monday morning the 35th St. Bridge over the Kinnickinnic River will close for approximately two weeks as the rehabilitation project in the area moves onto its next stage of operations.

The entire bridge will be closed to traffic in both the north and southbound directions as crews begin work on the bridge itself. During this time, the roads will be repaved and new sidewalks built to better accommodate pedestrian traffic.

Once work is completed lanes will reopen on the eastside of the bridge while crews begin work on the western part.

During the closure and construction work, drivers are urged to use 27th St. or Forest Home Ave. as alternates.  Drivers should alos expect delays along these routes are the main detours for the closure.
