Stage show inspired by Packers legend Donald 'Quickie' Driver to open in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- First Stage in Milwaukee is launching its new season with a production inspired by the life of former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald "Quickie" Driver.

"DREAM, QUICKIE! DREAM!" is set to open Friday, Oct. 6 at Marcus Performing Arts Center's Todd Wehr Theater. The play explores Donald's challenges as a new dad, assisted by memories of his younger self, "Quickie."

Directed by Milwaukee's Dimonte Henning, the production runs until Oct. 29. Henning stated in a press release about the show, "'DREAM, QUICKIE! DREAM!' reinforces the idea that dreaming big, coupled with hard work, always pays off."

The performance aims to inspire audiences with themes of hard work and big dreams, which resonate with Driver's own life story. The play is suggested for adults, teens and children ages 7-9 and 10-12.

Tickets start at $20 and can be purchased at the Marcus Center Box Office, by phone at (414) 273-7206 or online at firststage.org.
