MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It was an intergenerational salute from young people in Menomonee Falls to those who defend freedom.
The 6th and 8th graders at North Middle School in Menomonee Falls held their annual "Valentines for Veterans Event."
They made cards that will be delivered to veterans at Milwaukee's VA Medical Center.
"It's so important because we want to show our veterans what they've done for us and all the sacrifices they've had to make for our freedom and our comfort in America," said Isra Ahmed, an 8th grader at the school.
A student mentorship group made up of 8th graders who help 6th graders adjust to middle school life organized the Valentines project.
