Summerfest Foundation awards Music Education Grants

Summerfest Foundation awarded ten applicants from local schools and nonprofits grants on June 16 at Henry Maier Festival Park.

From March until May 1, Summerfest Foundation, Inc. collected applications from local schools and nonprofits in Southeastern Wisconsin for Music Education Grants up to $5,000.

The grants were awarded to: Clement Avenue School, Wisconsin Conservatory of Lifelong Learning, ALBA School, Bilingual Charter Elementary, Richard Kluge School, Pius XI High School, Golda Meir, Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, United Community Center Music Education Program, William Horlick High School, Glendale Public Schools and Glen Hills Middle School.

“We a thrilled to help keep music education alive in our local schools and youth-serving organizations,” stated Don Smiley, President of Summerfest Foundation, Inc. “These programs are essential to help youth develop both discipline and creativity and we are proud to support the 11 grant recipients who work hard to ensure that arts programming is available to children in our community.”
