MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- A man accused of shooting a Milwaukee police officer last year is back in court today.
Jetrin Rodthong, 22, entered a guilty plea this afternoon and received a sentencing date. This is all surrounding an incident that happened late January 2022.
Court documents state that Rodthong shot Milwaukee Police Department Officer Herbert Davis during a wellness check before stealing a police squad car.
Of the eight counts he was originally charged with three were dropped Tuesday.
Rodthong pleaded guilty to the other five charges, including attempted first-degree homicide and armed carjacking.
Circuit Court Judge David Feiss informed Rodthong that his plea could carry a sentence of up to 65 years.
Rodthong's sentencing is scheduled for March 23.
