Suspect who stole the Stradivarius Violin says he has a lot of community support
MILWAUKEE -- Salah Salahadyn was in a Milwaukee courtroom Thursday. He's charged with robbery for the theft of that 300-year-old Stradivarius Violin from Milwaukee Symphony Concertmaster Frank Almond earlier this year. The story gained international attention.
Thursday's appearance was for scheduling purposes. He faces a plea hearing June 30th, but he did speak exclusively with CBS 58's Matt Doyle on the way out of the courtoom.
\"I'm doing well as I can be,\" Salahadyn said after denying to comment initially. \"[I] Still have a lot of support out here. There's a lot of people in this community that understand there's more to this situation, and I can't say further than that.\"
Salahadyn then referred questions to his attorney.
