Target store in New Berlin reportedly receives bomb threat, deemed safe by authorities

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- New Berlin police officers, aided by the Milwaukee Police Department Bomb Squad, responded to a bomb threat at Target on S. Moorland Road.

Authorities say that they conducted a comprehensive investigation and declared the scene safe.

The threat was reported to New Berlin Police Department on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at around 9:48 a.m.

According to NBPD, the bomb threat originated from a generic email, consistent with similar incidents at other Target stores across the nation. Officials say the threat was a hoax and that there is no risk to the public.
