'That'll do, Donkey': 'Shrek the Musical' to be staged at the Marcus Performing Arts Center
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Marcus Performing Arts Center is preparing to host the all-new version of "Shrek the Musical." This revamped production, part of its North American tour, aims to blend familiar elements of the films with new twists.
According to a Monday, Dec. 11 press release announcing the production, the new show is under the creative direction of Danny Mefford, known for his work on "Dear Evan Hansen." The show has been re-envisioned by Tony Award winners Jeanine Tesori and David Lindsay-Abaire.
Set to take the stage on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m., "Shrek the Musical" invites audiences to rediscover the fun of its characters and story that centers around Shrek, a reclusive ogre, who embarks on a life-changing quest alongside a witty Donkey and the bold Princess Fiona.
Tickets will be available Friday, Dec. 15 at noon and can be purchased through the Marcus Center website, by phone or at the MPAC Box Office. Groups of 10 or more can secure their seats with a dedicated booking line.
