WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) --A gun was fired, but Wauwatosa Police can't figure out if anyone was shot.
It happened around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon near 63rd and North Avenue.
"I was upstairs watching T.V. around 2:00 p.m. and heard what I thought was a gunshot, almost like a glass breaking too, but louder, more muffled,” nearby neighbor Robert Schmidt said.
Schmidt says shortly after he heard the noise, he looked out his window and saw a big police presence near the intersection of 63rd and North Avenue.
"I saw a bunch of police cars, like six police cars head East on North Avenue like flying down that way,” Schmidt said.
Schmidt took photos that show Wauwatosa Police surrounding the apartment complex.
"One guy had a shield and another guy had a weapon drawn,” Schmidt said. “The police were around the house and everybody had their weapon drawn."
Neighbors say seeing police crime tape in this area isn't typical.
"This is really unusual for this neighborhood,” Nancy Hall said. “I've been here for 11 years and I don't think I've seen anything like this."
Wauwatosa Police say this appears to be an isolated incident and the people involved knew each other. They say there is no danger to the public.
