Three suspects arrested during drug deal near Pierce and Layton, fentanyl recovered
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area agents arrested three suspects on drug charges Thursday afternoon.
Law enforcement responded to the area of Pierce and Layton and took the suspects into custody during a drug deal around 2:45 p.m.
Fentanyl, cash, and other drug paraphernalia were recovered.
Alderman Bob Donovan issued a release saying that one of the suspects has been dealing pure fentanyl on the street in the area of Layton and Mineral.
Alderman Donovan also issued a statement which read in part, "The individual who was selling the fentanyl was doing so within a few blocks of four churches and two schools. I’m told his normal preferred peddling corner was 27th and Evergreen right next to a building housing retirees, and right across from the Domes, which attracts visitors from across the region and the state."
Charges against the suspects are being referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
