Two arrested in Racine County after stealing scrap metal to allegedly pay for son's Birthday party

Two people are under arrest and facing charges after stealing scrap metal from Racine Metal-Fab in the Town of Yorkville.

The incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. on July 8th.

According to a criminal complaint, police spotted the truck with no rear plate and scrap metal in the back of the trunk at Highway 11 and 56th Road.  The suspect's vehicle was speeding and crossed over the center line. She also stated that she had never been in trouble and thought it would be an easy way to get extra money.

The male passenger is now facing charges of Battery and Disorderly Conduct.
