Two Milwaukee sanitation workers robbed at gunpoint while on duty

MILWAUKEE-- Two sanitation workers were robbed early Saturday morning according to police and Department of Public Works officials.

The two workers were on duty doing trash pick-ups in an alley near 37th and Concordia and around 8a.m. when they were approached by a man with a gun.

He demanded money and property from the workers and then took off.

The men reported the robbery and were sent home for the rest of the day.

The two workers and other DPW crews were out today trying to catch up after the extreme cold weather from earlier in the week stopped them from doing pick-ups.

Police are still searching for the robbery suspect.
