Veterans Park to host Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office first National Night Out

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office will host its first National Night Out event on Thursday, Aug. 15 from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Veterans Park on Milwaukee’s lakefront.

Since the establishment of National Night Out in 1984 by the National Association of Town Watch, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office has supported the event across the county's 19 municipalities by offering demonstrations by its K-9 and drone teams, leading kid-friendly activities and staffing resource tables.

The Aug. 15 event will mark MCSO's first time hosting its own National Night Out event.

According to MCSO, the event will feature prizes from partners like the Milwaukee Brewers, a bounce house, DJs, various other activities, plus food including burgers, brats and hot dogs. They also plan to bring back some of the demonstrations and activities from previous National Night Out events.
