Waukesha School board votes to merge 2 elementary schools

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- At a school board meeting Wednesday night, March 9, 2022, members voted 5-3 in favor of merging Hadfield and Whittier Elementary Schools.

Some board members said it would be more beneficial to the students as more resources could be offered if the students attended classes in one building.

The change will take place for the 2022-23 school year.

Other members who voted against the merger, said merging the schools is not enough to fix the $7 million deficit the schools district has.
