Wauwatosa police arrest real-life 'Grinch' accused of stealing packages

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wauwatosa Police Department arrested a real-life 'Grinch' this week. 

According to police, officers arrested a person for stealing packages, driving a stolen vehicle, and fleeing from police. 

Officials say the suspect was found after a resident watched his package being stolen on his doorbell camera and called police. 

The suspect vehicle was located, which was reported stolen, and officers attempted to stop it. Officials say the vehicle fled but was later abandoned.

One person was arrested after a short foot pursuit. A second suspect ran away and has not been located. 

Officers report they found 31 unopened packages and numerous other items that are likely stolen. 

The department is working to return the packages to their rightful owners.
