A group of fifth graders received a lesson in preserving and restoring endangered species from the people who make it possible.
WE Energies Falcon Manager paid a visit to Carollton Elementary School in Oak Creek Monday morning. There are four peregrine falcon chicks at the Oak Creek Power Plant.
He gave a lesson on how the falcons live and even return to their same nesting boxes over the years.
his class will take a field trip in about two weeks to the power plant to watch the falcon chicks be banded.
The chicks are all one week old. They could be ready to fly in another two weeks. This is why it was important to them to get banded before they get out into the world on their own.
