West Allis Police searching for armed suspect who robbed jewelry store, tied up employees in back office
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The West Allis Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying an armed suspect who robbed a jewelry store in West Allis.
It happened just before noon on Monday at a jewelry store near 108th and National.
Police say that the suspect entered the store, removed a black semi-automatic handgun from a waistband holster, and took two store employees to a back office and tied them up.
The suspect then allegedly took keys to the display cases and removed a large amount of jewelry and watches.
The suspect then fled the store in a stolen blue 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe with the license plate 837-BPC.
The suspect is described as a black male, dark complexion, between 5'8 and 5'11, medium build, in his late 30's to early 40's.
The suspect was last seen wearing a gray pinstripe suit with an ID or badge-type holder around his neck with a brown fedora hat with a dark band.
