West Bend robbery connected nationwide
Today we are learning more about five people involved in a West Bend robbery and how it's connected to robberies all over the country.
Last year four men and a woman ran into a jewelry store, smashed in the counter, and grabbed what they could.
What was once a random robbery turned out to be group of robbers plotting smash and grabs from the east coast to the west coast, and everything in between.
Michael Husar, Owner says, "This whole group has been targeting rolex dealers that's what they wanted that's what they came in here for."
West Bend Police say they don't believe any other businesses in town should be concerned.
Lt. Richard Lucka with West Bend Police says, "The individuals came to the store for a certain product, and Husar's store provided that product."
Husars says they worked with the FBI, and all five of the people are from Detroit Michigan are ages 21 to 28. The owner says he's thankful the case was solved but say based on the other smash and grab robberies they believe there was little they could have done to stop it.
"I do know there are some cases where stores had guards who took a break. And they went running in. They knew all the patterns they were very professional knew exactly what doing and how going to do it."
The police said they believe at least 9 people were involved and are looking for several other individuals.
