Wisconsin Democrats hold town hall meeting on Foxconn in Sheboygan
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) – Wisconsin Democrats held a town hall meeting in Sheboygan to keep residents updated on the Foxconn project.
Attendees were able to ask questions and learn more about the massive flat screen maker.
State Senator Latonya Johnson says some of her constituents are concerned about the environmental impacts and the cost of the project, including how much money falls on taxpayers.
“We want them to understand the logistics of the deal, how that’s going to impact their life,” said State Sen. LaTonya Johnson (D)-Milwaukee. “People don’t know what exactly this means for Wisconsin. They want to make sure the majority of jobs that are created are for Wisconsin residents.”
Johnson says lawmakers want to hold Foxconn accountable and make sure the company keeps its promises.
Another town hall will be held May 22 at the Beaver Dam Community Library from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
