Wisconsin Humane Society's Ambassador Passes Away

Wisconsin Humane Society’s ambassador Duncan, an 11-year-old American Pitbull Terrier, died last Friday from congestive heart failure.

He began volunteering for the Wisconsin Humane Society in 2006 as an education ambassador, attending countless events and education programs over the years with his guardian, Nora Hart.

Duncan’s work on behalf of WHS helped to change perceptions of pit bulls; his affable, sweet demeanor won the hearts of everyone he met.

“He showed thousands of children the calm and depth of a dog's soul; charmed hundreds of gala guests (he looked wonderful in a tuxedo); and reminded us every time he visited of what our work means,” said Anne Reed, President and CEO of WHS.

If you’ve met Duncan and want to share a memory, please let WHS know on their Facebook page. You can also make a donation in honor of Duncan at wihumane.org that will go to support homeless animals in the community.
